Murphy Campbell’s assignment to write a story about the Cape Fear Indians was a formidable and seeming improbable task until he got assistance from the mouse of history.
Through the unique capability of the computer mouse he gains first-hand knowledge of the life of a Cape Fear Indian at the time of the settlement of the Cape Fear region of North Carolina.
Not only did Murph’s story win the state prize but it caused important changes in Murph’s life, including turning the story into a play for school presentation, along with desirable changes in his reactions.
