The title of the book, "The Circle As Before", did not strike me as something interesting at all. But out of curiosity, I just leafed through it. The table of contents shown in one page, has 18 chapters. I noticed the last chapter as being its title. I thought something must be interesting here. So, I read the preface. What struck me was this: “Tis the land of dreams Created by Light Circle ‘round it beams Protector of the right Circle was broken Creatures would implore To see the oaken Circle as before Very interesting. So, I continued reading, chapter 1. Then chapter 2; 3; 4; I could not stop reading until I finished the circle as before, to the very end of the beginning. It is so well written like I was watching the story unfold in a 360° wide screen movie. Like I sifted through scenes of the Creation Story, the "Ten Commandments", the "Sound of Music", "East of Eden", the "Sands of Iwo Jima", the "To Hell and Back",... More > etc. all at once. The plot goes really deep into your imagination. It dealt with the eternal battle between good and evil as you see it around the world since the beginning of time. You saw it over two thousand years ago in Jerusalem. And the Lenten season highlighted that event. You saw it in Europe and the Pacific during WWII. In the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, Indonesia, Cambodia, Burma, the Philippines, practically anywhere you look you see the struggle between "Ergon" (God) and "The High One" (Lucifer). And to realize that only a 10 year old child living with her parents in the green hills of Rancho Palos Verdes, California wrote this!!! How could that be?< Less
A very amazing product from the mind of a 10 year old girl writing about a subject of infinite human concern. Like some writers in the past who wrote in fiction her writing could be a big factor in instituting change in the way we live. Dr. Jose P. Rizal wrote "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo" that eventually freed the Philippines from Spanish rule. Her book can prevent leaders from becoming evil like the unicorn King Yorkan did in her book "The Circle As Before".
