"...Gravity is anything invisible that holds us down. For too long I allowed fear and shame to keep me from trying anything physical. I was terrified I couldn't do it. Defying Gravity is about moving beyond the things that hold us down...."
All proceeds of this book will benefit breast cancer research.
If you ever want a "relative" book this is the one. I read it the day I had a biopsy. Thank you Grace for the courage to live through those days till I got the results.... Mine were negative but if it had been anything else I was ready to kick cancer in the butt big time. Love you..... K
I was so disappointed in this book! It is basically a diary stating how many miles she will walk, did walk or wants to walk each day, or how tired she is, what time she woke up, when she went to bed, how she had a couple of blisters, etc, etc. Nothing inspiring or helpful. I'm glad the proceeds go to a good cause, but honestly, this "book" was very boring and I'm sorry I ordered it. I can't even count how many times the entire diary entry for the day consisted of things like, "Wow, I'm tired!"
Grace's walk isn't about cancer. Or losing weight. Or getting fit. Or raising money for a certain cause. It's about unshackling ourselves from the bonds we let hold us down. I've given the book to sisters and mentorees and friends. When you need a booster shot of courage and inspiration, pick up this book. Through Grace's willingness to be vulnerable, you'll realize you, too, can be stronger by facing your fear with the encouragement and support of all of us. Thank you, Grace, for sharing your journey.
Pack your lunch one day next week and use the ($6.95) savings to buy this book. It will motivate you to take a first step towards tackling that seemingly insurmountable personal goal that has eluded you. It’s an honest, inspirational log of Grace Killelea's real-life commitment and journey to overcome personal challenges, so that she could participate in the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. To further Grace's testimony that goals can be achieved - one step at a time - she ends her account by sharing her PRICELESS TOP TEN TIPS for "Defying Gravity". Grace is donating all proceeds of this book to breast cancer research, in support of those battling the disease and to pay tribute to those who have lost their fight. As you read this book, it will touch your heartstrings, bring you joyful inspiration and motivate you. You'll read this book more that once and you will want to share it with friends, so gift both yourself and your friends with a copy!
