A delightful rhyming story about the wonderful surprises children spring on their parents. Pinky, with the help of her friend Mary, bake a surprise birthday cake for Pinky's mom, Mrs. Frink! Supervised by Mrs. Frack (Mary's mom), the two girls work together to make the sumptious cake and clean up the kitchen.

What a cute story! Parents of young children will like the way that it depicts an adult handling the oven. Nice to have safety issues in the storyline so sealessly. The illustrations are simple, but colorful and great for young ones.
