Lost Emotions

A collection of original poetry -- the silent screams of a young man's loneliness. Written in the 1970's when I was a young teen from New Jersey and hidden away until now. Poems of strong desires to bond, relationships as they grow, and the regrets as they come to an end. And memories of summer days as they fade to autumn. The 1970's were a fascinating time of raw emotion on all fronts. The era of free love. I came through that time a bit lost, but I wrote down my feelings, and decided now to share them with you. Enjoy the darkness!

All I can say is that, although poetry isn't something I'd just choose out of the blue, this is absolutely incredible. Not only is it touching, but it also makes you think, and I agree with the previous reviewers when they tell about how it makes you feel like you're not alone and that others are feeling the same way I do sometimes. Some of the poems and thoughts, especially, make me think "Wow, this sounds exactly like me."

"The book is very good, I received my copy yesterday and started reading today. There are a lot of common threads running through it that we have all felt and shared at one time or another, whether we admit it or not. It's not a mirror of Greg's soul, its a universal guide to emotions. I was pleasantly surprised to read the poems by his grandmother at the end. I have the pleasure and privilege of meeting her with my kids when she lived in L.A. and was very surprised to learn she is also a poet. I like that you can pick it up and start reading at any point and don't have to start at page 1 and is also good when re-read. Excellent book! I know MTV's Jersey Shore is the hot new show, but I actually love living back in the 70s, at a simpler time, and this book brings you back. At home, I have 70s and 80s music playing all the time. I do like contemporary music but to me a lot of it all sounds the same. Live on, 70s!!!"

Greg opens himself up wide for a view of the lonely chasm that is a part of everyone's existence at some point, a part most of us would rather not expose. Raw emotion here triggered strong memories of the worst days of my adolescence, but end effect is cathartic, not depressing. In writing so openly about loneliness and romantic disappointment, it makes us feel less alone.
