Eventually every child has to grow up and leave home to navigate the brick jungles of the mean streets. Neff is no different, but what he soon finds out is that everything he's ever learned from inside the protective walls of his church going family's modest apartment, does not exist on the streets. His family's perspective versus the whole worlds way of living doesn't stand a chance. Truth and Lie meet face to face as he decides between turning the other cheek, and kill or be killed, and there is no room in between the two choices. His gullible sense of loyalty and naivete to the ways of the world around him turns a church boy into a killer, and the residents of an entire New York City Housing Complex are turned into hostages.
