"Iranian Ballet & Flok Dance" This fascinating autobiography by Haideh Ahmadzadeh charts her journey from a very small girl with big dancing ambition to a highly successful ballet dancer with a ballet company with International acclaim. Additionally it describes the emotional ups and downs and turmoil of trying to be a successful ballet dancer in 20th century Iran as well as the difficulties encountered in other artistic fields. I highly recommend this very interesting, entertaining and informative book to every one but especially to those who are interested in the history of ballet in Iran.

"My Life as a Persian Ballerina" Written in a simple and unpretentious prose, Aida traces the history of ballet in Iran during a period of dramatic change. Her story is that of so many individuals and groups who were responsble for Iran's enormous pre-revolution artistic, social, cultural and economic progress. It is also a window onto the lives of immigrants with all their customs and practices. A delightful read that brought back fond childhood memories. Guity Kashani

"A Persian Ballerina" How many people can associate classical ballet with modern day Iran? This simple and very personal account of the birth and development of ballet in Iran is a gem of a book as it depicts the biography of the premier dancer of her generation in Iran and how her own career mirrored the evolution of classical dance in her country. The interesting personal experiences of Haideh are aptly accompanied with a detailed description of the beginnings and rapid improvement of western style ballet, as well as the development of folk dancing in Iran. Kudos to Haideh!
