Although a little rough around the edges, this essay is a fascinating look into Absurdist Theatre and almost by accident a satisfying argument for theatre's strength in compelling a confrontation with the absurd over other media. Ms. McCarthy looks deeply enough into "The Bald Soprano" and "Waiting for Godot", but only briefly touches upon other absurdist works. Since I know she was under a time constraint, I only hope that she comes back to this work to expand upon her thoughts, or address them in some other form.
