Hans W. Tews of Orlando, Florida, wrote this autobiography of his early life especially so that his family would know how he and his parents survived World War II under very difficult circumstances and started a new life in America.
“I wanted them to know the Holocaust was real and that it affected not only Jews but anyone who would not pledge loyalty to the Third Reich or in any way criticized the regime,” Hans writes in the Foreword. “I also wanted to witness about the many miracles of God in my life.”
Hans’ memories illustrate how his early experiences shaped his faith and his work ethic. His experiences also shaped his desire to use his God-given talents both to advance in his profession and to give back to his adopted country through service – in the military, to his church, and to the local nonprofit organizations he continues to serve as chairman, officer, or board member.

This book has been a true inspiration to my life. This true story highlights a man named Hans Tews who was born in Germany and lived in the time of Hitler. This amazing story documents his tragic story of living during the Holocaust and going from a normal kid to having his life stripped from him and having to flee to Poland and later the Soviets. This story brought me to tears just thinking about the experiences this man must have gone through and it brought into perspective life and how beliving in God can help you in even the most dire circumstances. I would recommend this book to anybody who can read and I pray for the inspiration this book will bring you as it certainly has inspired me.
