To make things simply this is a review of the book Crush, written by Harmony Schreiner. It is a book that has three short stories together. The first story is called Call, second one is Canta Per Me and the final one is The Zombie Apocalypse Handbook. Each of the stories have their own special way of telling the story. None of them are similar neither in the actual story or the way they have been written. All the characters are very interesting yet different. Out of these stories “Call” was my favorite. Once I had started reading it I was so taken by it that I had to finish it as fast as I could. It has been very long since I’ve read anything interesting enough that I cared to keep reading and reading instead of doing something else. The story has a great feeling to it. When you read the story you can easily feel the mood. You are so curious about what is going to happen that you simply do not want to stop reading unless you really have. My second favorite is actually “The Zombie... More > Apocalypse Handbook” despite its length. It is the shortest story out of these three. Part of me feels like it should have been longer but the way the story was finished makes it clear why it shouldn’t go further than it already has. It has one of the best finishing I’ve seen in a long while. Final but the least is the “Canta Per Me”. Unlike the two other stories there is a part where you can actually guess what is going on. This will not make a difference as I am pretty sure it was meant to be guessable to diverse off from something else to make the ending have a great surprise waiting for you. In this book there are several scenes that truly take your mind to it and you are curious to find out what is going to happen next. Not quite as good as in “Call” but it isn’t far off from it. All in all in Crush there are three great short stories included that are entertaining to read. The way Harmony writes her stories is something unique. Despite being so young she has accomplished to find her own style of writing which is easily seen in her stories. Each story is different but each of them has something unique to Harmony and only her. Personally, I fell in love with the way she writes and I’m definitely going to be reading more and more stories from her. I can recommend this book to anyone who is even mildly interested into reading good stories with a mystical aura around them. Not to forget that her unique style is very lovable and makes you feel like you really are there observing the scene instead of actually just reading it. Besides if you truly love books you cannot simply walk away(or in this click away) without giving this great author a try!< Less
