Dec 19, 2012This book was an inspiration to me during my yoga teacher training. It is filled with beautiful words from so many yogis and poets. A good tool for yoga teachers in need of dharma talk ideas. Or people just looking to be touched by words.
Dec 17, 2012Poetry is a way to touch the soul, heart and mind, poetry is indeed timeless, sexless, breaks cultural boundaries and brings us back to our inner self. It breaks our assumptions and opens doors mentally. This book contains over 300 poems by yogis from 19 countries. It's a pleasure to have and to read. I've gifted it to many people who have never really even practiced yoga! Because yoga is not just asana practice. This book says it clearly.
Dec 16, 2011Lovely collection! Such a wide and thoughtful variety of topics, styles and voices. There's a mix of well-know yogis and poets from all over the world. This is an important book!
Dec 10, 2011This collection formed a long-needed bridge between my passions for poetry & Yoga and my parents. While my parents were visiting, I showed them the book. To my surprise and delight my mother, who loves neither poetry nor Yoga, began flipping through it, reading some of the poems aloud, and commenting on how lovely, clear and touching they were. Finally, something accessible to broader audiences! Thank you, contributors and Hawah, for opening some doors for me and my family.
Dec 8, 2011When you're a child and read Dr. Seuss, poetry becomes part of the childhood landscape. This is a playful, contemplative, whimsical, serious gateway back to that place. Rhyme or not, long or short, this collection of poems skewers the heart and spirit with a joyful edge. It's a must-have for any library! Thank you, HawaH for your vision!
