An entertaining and easy to read journey into the mindset of a Linux user which as a bonus gives a good introduction to the strange and sometimes quarky (sorry quirky) terminology used by us geeks.

One of my friends bought this book. I read it and loved it. It's not a HOW-TO... but it will teach you how to use Linux as an OS.

Well written and understandable by the new linux user. Linux isn't windows, so you need to get used to terminal use, partitioning, etc, and this book will give you a basic understanding of those issues.

Having my own book and having read this. I find the below statemnt unfair. It was a easy read for me. I am not a Linux power user or a IT geek script kiddie kind of human being. I am a old grizzled Home using GED educated Linux using Biker though. I count on people like this author to hold my hand as I learn this new operating system. This book was a stong hand indeed.

The Author is entertaining in the sense of opinions but shortly after the first few pages, the book is nothing short of a series of unintelligible acronyms and other geek gibberish. A disappointment.
