The surprising, shocking, often hilarious true story of a husband and wife team of licensed Florida Realtors. Learn along with them as they navigate through eccentric and seductive clients, a psychotic Broker, bizarre houses, and dog-eat-dog behavior.
Told from the point of view of a retired Disney and Warner Brothers Animator who decided to become a Realtor, the descriptive prose is peppered with off-beat humor and colorful character descriptions. Heidi makes you "see" the people and houses she dealt with. She had no idea what sort of experiences she would REALLY have to deal with when she plunged into the real estate business!!!

"Funny, sensitive, and informative" This author spilled her guts, demonstrated her detailed knowledge, and made me laugh out loud from one page to the next. I must admit that my attitude towards real estate agents and the job they do has seriously changed since reading this book. She made me FEEL right along with her. I had my house for sale by owner and she came by to talk to me about listing it. We got into the pros and cons, and she offered me a not yet published copy, that was just printed out on regular paper. I didn't know her before that day. After I read it I called her and told her how impressed I was with this book. She asked me if I'd post a review for it here, since I liked it, and I said I'd be glad to. I'm not such a great writer, myself, so I hope this review does its job. I do highly recommend this book. It is really a human interest story told with a very redeeming sense of humor. It does demonstrate the ups and downs of the real estate business, and it... More > explains the usual misunderstandings between the clients and the realtors in easy to understand detail. It should actually foster greater understanding and respect for realtors, and it clears up some misconceptions I know I had, while being tremendously entertaining. Some of the behavior of the brokers that she and her husband worked for really shocked me, I must admit. There are also emails included in a couple of the chapters that show how over the brink she was with one of her brokers after he accused her husband of lying, and one of her former clients who stole money from a relative in order to supposedly buy a house, and then bailed out of buying the house and cheated everybody involved in the deal. She really let them have it and let her readers see just how furious she got! To balance that rather serious stuff, there is the story of the home inspector who found the two naked people passed out on the bed, and the two wealthy senior citizens from the yacht set who tried to get Heidi and her husband involved in swinging (wife swapping). That chapter was absolutely hysterical! Every chapter is a different story, and told with depth and understanding of both human nature and the real estate business. But it is the unique sense of humor that really makes it a great book. Don't miss out on this one.< Less
"Review of Knock,Knock..." Read the book, laughed & skipped over the lengthy descriptions & communications between Broker & Agent because I've been there & didn't want to relive it! Anyway, if you have clients that want to re-lo to Palm Beach County, please refer! We are educated, experienced & ethical. Karen@redreefrealty.com 4 stars
