In this studio, the city of Savannah and downtown Miami were used as precedence for understanding infill urbanism. Students documented small infill buildings to understand how they contributed to the public realm and how they were internally organized. This semester examined housing. The student designed a comprehensive housing project in an urban context. The semester was divided into three projects. The first project was a carriage house and garden in Savannah, Georgia. The second project was the documentation and analysis of housing typologies in Savannah, Georgia and of infill buildings in downtown Miami. Infill party wall housing was explored in third project through a major design project sited in downtown Miami, Florida.
