"What I Mean Is..." A unique and fabulous speech and language therapy book, including hundreds of exercises, for those who are higher functioning survivors of brain injury - can be caused by stroke, cancer/chemotherapy or car accident etc. An amazing book. I knew I had a brain injury. And I knew I was having difficulty like never before with remembering, reading, organizing thoughts and saying what I meant. But I never imagined I had a speech problem. It took someone else to suggest it - and I was upset at first and denied it. I thought I was 'fine'. At least, I knew I wasn't... But I tried so hard to put up a front. I decided to give book this a try. I was angry, speechless - then delighted. (Angry that I needed this; Speechless that something so simple should be so difficult for me - but so easy 'to put right': Delighted with myself when it helped me achieve real fluency.) This book cut straight to the chase and addressed the problem. Getting back the ability to express... More > yourself is priceless - especially when you thought you were 'fine'! It gave me back the freedom to be 'me'. Thanks Hilary.< Less
