This is the second and much enlarged draft of St Austin's Plainsong Missal for the Advent, Christmass, Epiphany, and Pre-Lenten seasons. Propers for major Holy Days are also provided. The simple Psalm tones for the Mass Propers present little difficulty for parish precentors, choirs, and many of the clergy and laity. For those worshipping in English this volume should prove a pleasant companion through this holy season. Armchair liturgists will find more challenging volumes to amuse them but pastors of actual parish churches may well benefit from this work. Thanks to the many contributors who have made St Austin's Plainsong Missal possible. After more months of usage we may offer a version of these texts and tunes as a proper hardbound book for the whole Church Year. Fr. John Lancelot Andrewes Press
