William Wirt. b.1772- d.1834. Admitted to the Virginia Bar, 1792. The Hon. Mr. Wirt, was privately educated as a Lawyer, and served as U.S. Attorney General, 1817-1829. Mr. Wirt’s exposition of the necrotizing effect of political deceptions, which he no doubt encountered during his long tenure as U.S. Attorney General, to Rutgers College students of 1830 he exposes the "Secret and Dark Designs" of corrupt and ambitious leaders, who by their actions destroy the liberty of the people. He later commends his Rutgers proteges' to seek becoming virtuous officers, and genuine patriots for the sake of their generation, and their children.
