"creative and intelligent" The novel, by itself, is creative and moving. It carries the themes of human experience that we all love to read about. But there's more: an intellectual agenda is hidden within the characters, within the story. The novel not only tells a story, but argues for a theory; more specifically, a non-linear decision-making theory. And in case you missed all this, look to the commentary (for scholars), which is an intellectual adventure in itself. The author takes you along for the ride; his discoveries become your own. I have never read a piece of argumentation that was so personal and involved. If the author's intention was to "make ideas come alive," I think the novel and commentary are quite successful.

"Rising Sun" I thought this was some kind of Japanese book or something but it's not. It's a love story and it's very sad. I know it's supposed to be about ideas or something but I like it for the story. And I like the way they travel around. I wish there weree some pictures, though. Buy this if you want to travel but can't. Reading it is almost like being on the trip!
