When October Williams moves to the small seaside town of New Salem, Maine, he hardly expects to be chased by the ghost of the Headless Paperboy. But New Salem is a town gripped by the supernatural where anything can happen...
October soon learns a strange and terrifying tale. Every Halloween three children vanish as the ghost begins searching for his head. Riding a thirty-year-old bicycle and hurling flaming newspapers, the phantom needs three victims before disappearing for another year.
Together with a band of misfit kids who call themselves the Nightmare Club, a strange girl named Alliecat who wants to shove her way into the group, and a pot-bellied pig named Barnabas, he must find the Paperboy's head and put it back with the body before it's too late and he loses his own!

"The Nightmare Club #1 The Headless Paperboy, By: Howard Hopkins " The Headless Paperboy By: Howard Hopkins Review by: Buzzy 4 stars Howard Hopkins does it again with another clever tale! This time with a tamed down view of horror. October Williams moves from Philadelphia to New Salem, Maine. Mom has gotten a divorce and needs the space. Thus October is the new kid stuck in a new school. Of course he gets the school bully mad at him that first day. How could he not? Even worse, he comes up against a town legend in the living, uh - dying, flesh. After all, every new kid should be chased by a Headless Paperboy to get his year started off right. October gets befriended by the school oddballs, the Nightmare Club. Meanwhile he has to keep running bottom over end from bully, Fonzie wannabee, Jimmy Gibbens. Poor October Williams, he finds himself in the middle of the supernatural and a bit of discrimination. Buzzy
