A Companion to The Trillowes of Chastleton - a medieval Oxfordshire family

ByHoward Trillo

This Companion volume to “The Trillowes of Chastleton” contains the full text of all primary sources relating to the medieval (pre-1500) Trillowe family of north Oxfordshire that the author used to create the ‘parent’ book, gathered together over a period of some 30 years of research. It is intended to be an ‘aid’ to understanding the theories regarding family structure put forward in the book, as well as providing the full historical evidence for the undisputed facts. It also has sources relating to ‘miscellaneous’ Trillowe individuals living within the period, and it is hoped that the comprehensive 'Index of People and Places' (over 20 two-columned pages, including many jurors, taxpayers and witnesses) might be seen as equally valuable to genealogists and historians of Oxfordshire folk in general in the 14th and 15th Centuries, maybe even acting as a ‘stimulus’ to future research and publication, thus adding to our knowledge of our medieval ancestors.
