In this booklet, Carlos Porter presents 25 short essays showcasing his sharp, polemical and ironic style as he comments on everything wrong with contemporary society, with its accent on “democracy” and “human rights”. Porter is someone who has rooted out the hypocrisy and self-contradiction inherent in these views, with their pretended belief in human equality (they don't) and outcome-based assessment of social progress (it can't). Nearly everything Porter writes about, especially on immigration, banking and globalization, has become substantially worse since he originally wrote these essays. Just look at one quote: "The principal reason for the failure of National Socialism to attract adherents is its lack of hypocrisy" (p. 45), and you know you have something of lasting value. Another: "Just as Americans do not walk because they have cars, they do not think or feel, because they have television" (p. 126). Porter is a writer of depth, perspicacity and a keen sense...
