An eyewitness account of life in the slums of a Victorian city (Liverpool, U.K.) This is a reprint of a series of reports, originally printed over six days in a Liverpool newspaper in 1883. It was also produced, with slightly truncated text, in pamphlet form later the same year. This text follows the newspaper version, the title page is from the pamphlet.
