Jun 25, 2014I wish the mayor or city manager of every small town would read this book. Many the realities of the new Information Economy are taken for granted in large cities, but this short but powerful book provides a unique perspective by putting them in the context of small town economic development. The personal examples presented here provide insight into how ordinary people can harness connectivity for positive change. Broadwater's stories are told with a passion that is contagious; by the time you finish it you'll be excited and motivated to change the place where you live. Not only that, but you'll have the strategies and tools to help you do so.

Every town and city should have a copy of this book to seek the advice Jason Broadwater has to offer on successfully revitalizing towns and surviving in the new economy. Every citizen should have a copy to understand how to get involved in urban revitalization in his or her hometown. Jason Broadwater offers a unique perspective based on his personal experiences, using Rock Hill as a prime example. Jason’s passion and knowledge make Old Town New World the perfect book to plug into for anyone living in what he calls The Connectivity Age.
Jun 24, 2014Few people venture into deep thought, even less into deep understanding. Jason Broadwater has found an avenue of thought about economic development that is simple and compelling. If you want to know where work, education, crowdsourcing and economic development are headed in the next 30 years and how our small towns can prepare for the next adaptation of their role, then you've found the right book.
Jun 24, 2014What sets this apart from other books about small town economics and business operation is its relatable voice. The narrative is anchored to the writer's personal experience. It's like sitting across the table from your older brother and hearing him break down how this and that experience imapcted him and what you can learn from it. I challenge you to read the first word of this book and not feel pushed to complete it. The insight is usable and substantial and it comes at you left and right, but it goes down like sugar.
Jun 24, 2014At less than 100 pages, it's a quick read that'll get you excited for the future of Small Town, USA. Worth checking out.
