I met Parvaneh on one of the trails in San Antonio. As race director, she was waiting for the runners to return to the finish line. I'm not a runner but a cyclist and she offered me some much needed snacks to get me back to my finish line, my vehicle. I'd seen her at this particular trailhead many times, on different occasions and stopped to introduce myself. She has a contagious smile and is always helpful to all that come into contact with her. I found out she wrote a book about her continuous journey of the world and life and decided to purchase a book for my children and myself. I just finished the book and it is an amazing journey that includes much more than running marathons. The stories of what occurred during her life, marathons and the ability to keep on going even with the struggles along the way. She is an inspiration to all and has determination in finishing what she starts. A great read and great person!!

This was so much more than a book about running! I met Parvenah when I ran one of her half marathons in San Antonio. My husband and I were the only ones on the course (a cold, windy day) but she was so cheerful and encouraging and stayed to talk with us about her book and about our goals. The book was as much a tale of the cultural background of the author as it was about her running adventures around the world. I am inspired to set higher goals in running and life after reading this book.

I am a runner for 40 years. I've been blessed to literally run all over the world. So many stories in this book I can relate to. Though I've only done one Ultra, I know the feeling expressed in this book. I met the author during a mainly marathon event in New England. 7 races in 7 days in 7 states. This women has a unique athletic gift and now also demonstrated literary expertise. She has captured the sprite of the runner in the world of long distance running. It is amazing how she accomplished the running experiences given where and how she began. Her belief in herself demonstrates a focus few of us have. Having traveled the world, I was able to relive many of my personal running experiences. Her journey brought back wonderful memories of events and friends who we meet at running events. Participants in this sport brings out the values and qualities runners enjoy so much from running. I appreciate not only the running experiences she shared but the historical facts of her home...
