    This book is a collection of beer recipes pulled out of historical records. There is the recipe to make invert sugar of different colors and a description of various decoction methods for brewing lagers. The author is straightforward that he made educated guess to fill in the blanks of historical records since vital pieces of information are often missing. One good example given by the author is hop additions. Another is yeast, I guess Wyeast and White labs were not arround way back then... You will need more than basic brewing knowledge to brew these recipes. Since these are all-grain, you will need to adjust them to your brewing system and fill in a lot of blanks. I would have appreciated some information regarding water profile for brewing those recipes.
