In this book I come and stand before you… Naked and exposed. To tell, where I come from, what I went through and who I am. This book describes my journey through life and the experiences that have formed me into who I am today. More specifically, this book takes an in depth look at the relationship between mother and daughter and the impact this relationship has on personal development and identity. This inspirational first person account takes a hard, honest look at a relationship that started out with neglect and abuse, but eventually evolved into one characterised by forgiveness and healing. A must read for any parent or survivor of abuse.

Hyla writes with a clarity that comes from her heart. I would highly recommend her book for anyone who has suffered from childhood abandonment, neglect, and abuse and the feelings of hopelessness, helplessness that accompanies this. Her story shows courage and determination to overcome against great odds and to forgive and free herself from hate despite her own suffering. A true hero's journey from despair to freedom!

A stunning read which bares the naked soul in pain and ends up victoriously in joy and forgiveness. A beautiful lesson in the hardships of love and life and survival! I recommend this.

This book had me laughing and crying by turns and it gives a much needed window on how very fragile our most fundamental relationships can be. It is a truly inspirational read about the power of love and forgiveness. A wonderful read and one that I would happily recommend.

This book is beautifully written and has an unexpected but beautiful ending! Hyla Jacobs Horn is a Survivor, an Overcomer, but the most Beautiful attribute of all... a Forgiver!! <3 I DO recommend this book to ALL Victims of Abuse.

I was one of the lucky ones that got a little preview as she was writing this , Mrs. Hyla Horn has a way with words while her story is a hard story to tell , she said it gracefully and it is beautifully written. For anyone who has struggles with abuse this is a great book to help begin with your own healing. Kudos's for having the strength to share your story. Always a fan. Pepper Higgins
