Although famous throughout the world for her "Book of Household Management" Mrs Beeton was not the grandmotherly figure in an apron that many imagine her to be. She married at the age of 20, helped create a thriving publishing business and died tragically at the age of 28. She was very much an 'entrepreneur' by force of circumstance, using her intelligence and energy to save her family from poverty, and I feel would have been very much at home in today's Internet age. This ebook contains 120 pages of her cake and pudding recipes, with a short biographical introduction by me and a Preface by the great lady herself. Her recipes also give an insight into 19th Century England. (e.g. her LAMBSWOOL Old English beverage - made from apples, not Lambswool in case you were wondering).
