    This is a true account of a 1967/8 expedition and as such a historical mountaineering account from a well loved and respected climber. It is a reproduction from an incomplete manuscript left by Ian Clough that had been returned by his publisher as being “too long” just before his death on Anapurna in 1970. The original manuscript was left with his widow Niki who, after moving house many times with their daughter Jennifer Jane, remarried then moved to Upton in Norfolk, then Windermere where she died of breast cancer leaving Jenny as custodian of his manuscript. As Ian’s younger brother (Peter) I decided to help Jenny to get his story of the expedition published so that others could enjoy the sense of adventure and camaraderie of a climbing team.
