The book is both a lighthearted and serious look at why humans dedicate so much time and effort to find the perfect mate, find true love, and grow to hate them over a few years.
Most of us recieve joke emails poking fun at the opposite sex. These stories are often the basis for the chapters in the book as we chat about the underlying serious problems that are so similar to the daily problems we experience.
Most people we meet are really great, this is why we often marry some-one who will become our burden later in years. Most of us don't realise the stresses to try and survive and look after our mate are imposed by outside forces, such as religon and politicians.
The aim of this book is to understand what is behind the high divorce figures and understand that relationships can be awesome as long as we understand what influences us both mentally and physically.
