You don't have to be interested in race and identity issues to enjoy this book. It's not preachy, or academic, but an honest and revealing account of a mixed race relationship as seen by one of the children. Sometimes sad, but strangely uplifting, it is a story that can be read more than once, and that gives an insight into the psychology of difference that will resonate with many people. A refreshing, insightful story that has something new and important to say.
