This is the first in a series of books which follow the life of Terry Cray. Terry is a woman who wakes up in a laboratory, and shortly discovers that she is an android with the memories of a human who died 200 years previously. When she leaves the laboratory, she must not only attempt ensure her safety in a futuristic world, but she must discover who she can and cannot trust. Her quest will lead her to question her humanity (or lack of it) while the stakes rise, and she is forced to fight the very company that created her.
