Before being born, each one of us knelt before the Most High and requested a Divine Destiny to fulfill while living here on Earth. Sadly, few of us bring this Destiny into fruition. However, Our Afrikan Ancestors created spiritual systems to assist us in being and doing EVERYTHING we were born to do. This book uncovers the Ancient Ancestral methods of living the fullest life possible! Included are Yoruba prayers with translations and phonetic pronunciation, explanations of Yoruba scriptures (Odu), historical information on Yoruba spirituality during the Maafa (slavery), and the daily ancestral processes used to make one's Highest Self manifest. Written by an Oshun priestess of over 15 years who was trained in the U.S., the Caribbean and Nigeria,West Afrika, the book is a MUST READ for anyone who is interested in Traditional Afrikan Religion, Eastern mysticism, paganism or self-help practices.

"agreed!" this book was like sitting down & talking to a friend, instead of hearing about ifa from the perspective of a coldly academic perspective. it was a joy to read; i plan to spread the word!
"A marvelous explanation of Ifa" I highly recommend this book, especially for those who live in areas where there are a lack of Ifa practitioners. This book does not come across as too "preachy" nor does it come across as being too cerebral. There are many books (and websites) about Ifa on the market that take an almost disconnected, objective approach to relay information, sounding almost like a graduate thesis. However, you can tell that the author constructed this book from "honest writing," pulling infinite wisdom from deep within the ancestral chambers of her DNA to enlighten us about the beauty of Ifa. I also liked the fact that the author explained the importance of the community, motherhood, and family within the context of Afrikan Spirituality. Many websites/books offer great explanations of the Orisa, but offer little advice on the history and culture of the Yoruba/Anago. In this regard, the author is a cultural custodian, educating readers on... More > traditional Yoruba culture which can be relevant to Afrikan societies living in today's climate. I wish I had this book years ago!< Less
"Good, Concise Intro to Ifa" This is the most concise book I've read on Ifa so far. One of those things you can read in a day, but refer to for a lifetime. If you're curious and don't know where to start, this book is a great starting point. If you're already a practitioner & tired of explaining what it is you do/all that stuff in your house (lol), I'd recommend buying a copy for friends, family, or anyone who has heard of Ifa but has no idea what it's really about.
