It is said the truth can be stranger than fiction and having been involved in this case I know just how true that is. This easy to read book shines a light on the judicial system, showing up short comings and in this case an open and obvious bias to the spouse who was an officer of the court. The child and his wishes were almost irrelevant. It was a testament to JCP and her family that they fought on, determined to achieve the best outcome for her son. A fascinating story.

I found this book both compelling, and from a lawyer's point of view rather disturbing. I would be untrue to myself if I were to pretend that I did not know that lawyers from both sides of the profession did not know how to use the legal system, but I was horrified by what I read and such blatant abuse should have no place in our judicial system. JCP is brave for doing what she did - and I admire her for it.

I was simply blown away by this entirely believable and touching book which parallels my own unsatisfactory experiences of the egos in our imperfect legal system. It could have been entitled "Never Give Up. Never Give In" and is a triumph of love over wickedness. JCP's determination is inspiring.
