A short bouncy novel, set in the 1970's in London and Paris. Judy Lansdowne, separated from her problem husband,'Punch, is depressed, and unsure of herself ...until suddenly the phone rings and Judy is invited to Paris where her curvaceous looks and jokey personality appeal a variety of interesting characters, while she learns rapidly the inside of Paris circles: politics, films and tv, and some unpublished phrases, all of which changes her whole perception of herself and her future. The distinctive aspect of this story is the way Judy flits from one extreme to the other of French social society, while eating with glee and loving merrily. Described by someone who knows the trade, Wendy Stream, as "a book I would recommend whole heartedly, a jolly good informative read with something in the story for everybody". The perfect book for a trip to France. The author lived in Paris for many years.

"Punch and Judy Split Up" After a split up in her marriage to Punch, Judy, from London, decides to visit a friend in France. She proves to herself that she can learn to be independent and successful Judy is a very feminine young lady. She makes us laugh as she explains her journey to France. A well described group of dinner hosts brings Judy’s personality to the fore. She has a deep sense of humour, leaving her hosts wondering about her, and we then learn where Punch fits into the plot. Places are described with vivid clarity, almost drawing one into the scene. Very interesting and compulsive reading. I have read many, many exciting sexual exploits, but never one as described between Judy and Xaviar. Her insistence that he tells her about the French way of life as they both take their sexual desires to the ultimate end, is erotic in itself. It is well crafted and entirely unusual. Judy and Mark making love to music was exquisitely written and when repeated to Xaviar, it... More > held a plethora of wit. This young lady enjoyed her sex and left us in no doubt as to such enjoyment. Judy and Ingrid gave us a further insight to sheer sexual delight, but the scenes with Bruno were quite exceptional. Apart from the delightful erotic scenes, the whole story is well told and is an adventure in itself. The humour fits in well and keeps us turning the pages. We are also treated to a great deal of the French way of life and politics. We are also skilfully taken behind the scenes of television programs. There seems to be something in this story for everybody. This is a book I would recommend wholeheartedly, a jolly good informative read, with added titillation. Wendy Stream,< Less
