I really enjoyed this book being a Six of Hearts fanatic but you don't need to be one to enjoy this! This book is a crossover of Jack Heath's Six of Hearts and Ashley Arthur series but neither are required to read this as Jack's characters (as per usual) can stand strongly on their feet without a mass of introduction. This is an action packed read with the beginning and end extremely neatly tied - very nice I must say. Action (loads of action) scenes read fast and awesome but I really like Jack's descriptions of the locations, cities and bonus characters etc (ie...ones I don't remember being in the series before). Mr. Heath doesn't jam a whole lot a fancy descriptive words down your throat but rather sets up firm but flexible guidelines which I really like as it allows the reader to fill in the gaps with their own imagination rather than struggling to picture exactly what they have been told. As with his other Six of Hearts books the dialogue and thoughts of the characters carries... More > just the right amount of depth for the reader to actually 'think'. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. As always Heath's writing style allows me interpret what I will my way and flesh out other aspects how I see fit and hence it's easy to place yourself in different characters shoes. However, there are precisely three qualms I have with this book. But they are personal qualms which likely come from when reading the other Six of Hearts books as they came out. Mr Heath gives specific descriptions (no more than five words or less) about Two, Jack and Six. Two - wiry, dark hair Jack - curly hair Six - pale eyes I...always imagined Two being akin to a football player in build...with light hair that was curly. I thought Jack would have straight hair...and I thought Six would have dark blue eyes...curse you Mr. Heath. I have now written a review over 200 words in length for a book that is only 84 pages...but most of it is interchangeable with his other books :P< Less
