"Longneck A History of the 274th AFA BN" My father, Harold Weatherman,Sr.has been deceased for 22 years. His tank was Cover Girl which was discussed and also he was the gentleman on the left in the picture on page 99 and the gentleman in the center is George A. Daniels, Jr., aka Nick. My father didn't talk a lot about his experiences but through your book I was able to track his trek through Europe. After the war my Dad and his cronies would drink beer and say "The only reason the Japs surrendered was because they heard that the 274th and Patton's 34d Army were on the way." Thanks so much for giving our family the opportunity to better know our father. I just ordered another book for my sister. In my father's possession when he died was a small piece of paper listing where he was on what date. His notes were exact to the timeline in the book. At times I felt like I was right there with them. I welcome hearing from any other 274th AFA BN members or family members.... More > Harold Weatherman, Jr.< Less
