This is a great manual for an actor - just really excellent wisdom and a really great style with some very witty humor accenting it all – very much speaking “person to person” and totally “shooting from the hip” - I am an impatient reader, so I want the “crux”. I have read other pieces here and there on how to be an actor, and this leaves them in the dust. Useful! Very down to earth, practical and “No Filler”.

"Really helpful" Discovered this book from a friend who had the 1st edition which was a little rough around the edges in terms of looks, but the info in it was fantastic. Just ordered new edition and it is a legit, awesome book. Went through it with a highlighter and found so many things to know and remember -- this is a densely packed book, but really fun to read too. "Jack Rush"'s style is accessible and very motivating. Wish there were more books out there like this. Thanks! M Lipson

"Best book in the biz" I've read a million of these things - from acting "theory" to make-it-quick scams, and this is the only book I'd recommend to anyone that's not already a steady working actor. It's got great advice on the entertainment industry, and is the most motivating thing I've read in a long time. It gives you everything you need to know in a well-organized fashion, and, best of all - it got me off my butt and doing what I've been wanting to do forever. A definite must read. JP Studio City, CA
