Bean Neal is a seven year-old girl in a growing fifteen year-old body. She has just began her first year of high school in the mainstream program. It's a big adjustment, but when troubled teen, Ali Cramer comes to her rescue, Bean latches on to Ali and an unlikely friendship blossoms.
Through Ali's eyes, Bean learns to be free, and through Bean's eyes, Ali learns to be a child.
