If you are looking for a fun, fast murder mystery - this is it! There is a little bit of something for everyone in this book. Set in a well-described, quiet suburb of Los Angeles called La Playa Verde, the story revolves around the town's current first lady, Gerrie Grant, solving the untimely demise of her rival and neighbor, the former first lady, Sandra Billingham! The twists and turns will keep you guessing and the secondary characters are both interesting and entertaining enough to draw you into their world. The final showdown is a dramatic and satisfying conclusion to a suspenseful plot.

The Wading First Lady is a murder mystery written by Jacquelyn Thomas. The heroine, Gerrie Grant, is likable and sincere. Her determination to discover who killed her political rival is noble, considering they were never best of friends. The detailed descriptions bring you right in with the cast of characters. Clues are cleverly, and subtly, sprinkled throughout the story to keep you guessing “who dunnit”. As in any well written mystery, there are surprises, twists and turns. But there are also passages that make you chuckle as the characters develop and reveal more of themselves. You will find yourself getting caught up in the events surrounding a murder in otherwise quite Playa Verde. This story is a cozy, enjoyable read for those who appreciate a lighter mystery, a book worth adding to your library. Buy it today!
