It is with much happiness that I have reviewed the author’s book “The Kingdom of God”. The reason: I have known Jacques since March 1955 when he arrived at Kfar Batya from France. I - had been in Kfar Batya since a few months by then, knew Hebrew fluently and was very familiar with Israeli life. The then Director of the children’s youth village of Kfar Batya – Mr Shlomo Malkiel (z”l) - assigned me to be Jacques’ tutor, as Jacques didn’t know Hebrew at the time, nor was he familiar with Israeli life. I was thus tasked by our Director with showing Jacques “the ropes” at Kfar Batya and to see to his eventual adaptation to Israeli life in general, and in Kfar Batya – in particular. Jacques was “attached to me” for a few weeks, after which he successfully became autonomous. Jacques and I have remained very closed friends since that time. During our together-life in Kfar Batya, I learned first-hand about his childhood in France, notably – his survival as a holocaust child. I thus know... More > first-hand about his ordeals as he describes them in this book. I feel very fortunate to be mentioned in this book – notably on pages 184-185 where Jacques recounts our Kfar Batya life during which I personally learned of his miraculous escape from the holocaust. This book ought to be read by all researchers, historians or history students, and certainly by all AMIT personnel – of which organization Jacques and I sprouted…< Less

"Review of " It is my priviledge to be the first to offer a review of this book. Whilst I am not Jewish and whilst I took no pleasure in reading of the historical atrocities I took immense pleasure in the factual education I received as a result of completing this book from cover to cover. The authors commitment to ensuring that all his research was backed up with factual illustrations and his attention to detail is commendable. Whilst I am on the other side of the world I had the priviledge of having had a close working relationship with the author some 25 years ago and have only recently been able to renew that friendship due to lost contact. I can bear testimony to the authors character and his continual strive for perfection. I also know that the author may not have had his biological parents to instill the strong character disciplines that he possesses but it is credit to those who cared for him and taught him in those terrible times that have enabled him to instill... More > these same values in his own family. This point comes across very strongly throughout the publication. This is why I know everything written is qualified and factual. I also believe that everyone should read this book and understand the terrible things that happened that history may never be allowed to repeat itself in this way. Thank you Jacques for sharing this knowledge with the world. Iain White< Less
