Grammaire de la Langue Soureth ou Chaldéen Vulgaire is the first grammar of the modern Aramaic dialects spoken in the Nineveh plains by the Christians belonging principally to the Chaldean Catholic Church. The author, Fr. Jacques Rhétoré (1841-1921) was a French Dominican who served as a missionary in the area for over twenty years. An appendix provides short samples of writing in the spoken language.
