David Thomas Webb, son of Norfolk Poet, Wendy Webb, tragically lost his life at the age of 19. He was a bright young man who, despite being autistic, had secured a place at university, studying for his Computer Science Degree.
This eclectic poetry collection has been compiled in tribute to David and in celebration of his life; and in aid of The National Autistic Society. The poems have been written in a variety of styles by poets from around the United Kingdom.
Having seen a copy of this book, I am logged in to order my own. This is an entertaining book with a good variety of writing that prove poetry can exist in more than one style. Poets from different backgrounds have combined their efforts to raise money for a very worthy cause and produced a work of art. I woudl urge others interested in the study of poetry to obtain a copy.
Being an author myself, writing poetry in my own unique style... I found the anthology (The Mortal Man) to be a very 'refreshing' image of all other authors styles and moods. With the mulitple authors, their work and their insight into poetry, the book allows you to compare styles and moods which intrigue me to 'think' when writing my own poetry which can only develop the work that I am involved with. This is more than a great piece of work, it is actually a unique, genuine publication which can be a useful tool in the progression of the poets mind. 'Can you really afford to miss out on this experience...?'
