I agree with the reviewer above. This is a great read, whether you believe the Willie Lynch speech/letter to be truth or myth. This book touches on an array of issues currently plaguing the African American community. It educates you on facts omitted from traditional history books. It is refreshing to read a book where the authors use real-life scenarios to point out the problems with the mindset and actions (or lack thereof) of our community; AND also outlines possible solutions. Rather than pointing a finger, these authors grab your hand and attempt to guide you towards change. Without giving away too much of the book, I will say that I came away with an understanding that we must demand more from politicians and churches; but more importantly from ourselves. From Moses to the Joshua Generation is a call to action. How long will we continue to stand idly by, as the world progresses around us? This book would be a great addition to your personal library.

Having read the authors previous books, I was eagerly looking forward to reading this selection. I must say that I was not at all disappointed. There are those that question whether-or-not the 'Willie Lynch' papers were a fabrication. Whether true or not, this selection provides a very detailed, and historic glimpse into the tumultuous beginnings of the African-American experience within the United States, and progresses to its most crowning achievement...the election of Barack Obama as the USA's first African-American president. This book offers a considerable amount of factual data that is excluded from most history books (i.e., African-Americans as elected members of Congress dating back to the 1800s, etc). Moreover, it speaks to the 'plight' experienced by many as freedom and equality were denied. No subjects are left untouched as the authors address economics, education, sexism, politics, entertainment, etc. The insights by the authors are very thought-provoking and engaging.... More > Would African-American children fare better in "same-sex" educational systems? What if African-Americans pooled their economic or political resources? This book goes everywhere with me, and has proven to be a great conversation starter. This book is an excelllent read, and I highly recommend it to all!!!!!< Less
