A Demon Within
eBook (PDF), 160 Pages
An unforgettable and riveting horror story that gives new meaning to the word evil! From the first page to the epilogue, readers will ask, “Is this a man or a demon, and what is he going to do next?” No one could stop the evil that raged within this husband and father—an evil that hungered for blood and revenge! Each page of this e-book is addicting as it spirals with emotional intensity, taking readers through the years of Jim Young’s evil, sadistic life. His eight-year old son Ben speaks from his hospital bed, telling of the horrific torture and appalling abuse that he and others suffered at the hands of his father. When his words reflect a vocabulary far beyond his years, a neighbor explains that it is the spirit of his mother who speaks through her child. The author tells a compelling, supernatural story of good versus evil with an ending that is both shocking and satisfying. By, Bettie Tucker

Oct 15, 2009"ARS Review" “An Demon Within” By James Chancellor Review by Kathleen Troutman, reviewer for Amazing Authors Showcase and Author of HEALERS (Reviewed as Why Daddy?) This book is a wrenchingly sad story about one boy's struggle to survive his abusive father's violence and rage. We meet Ben Young in the hospital, unconscious, whispering the tale of his abuse in his delirium. The hospital staff is spellbound and listens to the story he has not been able to speak of in a conscious state. Because he is speaking from the depths of his pain, the staff finds the story frighteningly believable. Ben's father, Jim, is controlled by an evil entity that craves violence and pain. There are other victims but the presence of a helpless child (Ben) becomes the focus of Jim's evil personality. The twisted thoughts and vicious acts of cruelty perpetrated on his son will leave you sick with pity. A murder that can be linked to Jim and his business partner cause the evil personality to... More > interfere and control Jim on an almost constant basis. His business partner betrays him and it looks as though the legal system that failed Ben will trap Jim. Jim soon becomes a prisoner to the demon inside him, though it is his family that suffers at the entity's hands. Ann dies from injuries and Ben is left to find a way to survive the brutality of the demon who has taken residence in his father's body. We've all read of the atrocities inflicted on children by their own families. This story is wrenchingly sad, but offers a twist that we have sometimes wished for in real life. You'll find yourself cheering for the next-door neighbor who sees the demon inside the man and tries to help. You'll feel the sick defeat when it becomes obvious that Ben is a victim of a heavily overworked legal system as well. You'll pray for Ben and his young, helpless mother and the ending that we wish all abused children could have. Read this book with the doors locked and a clean handkerchief--you'll need both.< Less
