I really enjoyed "Imago Mortis" and was quite impressed with the author's dark style of storytelling and macabre choice of subject matter. But I have to say that I'm even more impressed with his poetry. Ferace is the real deal - a master of the written word and a fascinatingly chilling weaver of dark, disturbing, beautiful tales and poetry which is absolutely heartstopping in its power. An heir to Poe?

Finally - The volume we've all been fervently anticipating is here, and it's even better than anyone could have expected. "Somnambulism: The Poetry of James Ferace" is an exceptional selection of poems by an amazingly talented author.           A brilliant poet with a penchant for melancholy, his compositions are dramatic, intricate, philosophical, and passionate. Many of them are dark and disturbing, and a familiar ambiguity will be apparent to those already acquainted with his writing.           Athough a few of these creations are light and entertaining, a good portion are wrought with pain, suffering, and apparent turmoil. It's evident that Mr. Ferace has been hurt; while undeniably devastating, it's also been a catalyst, and has enabled him to bestow this gift, these words, upon an eager and fortunate audience.... More >           Sensous, somber, and beautiful, the works contained in this compendium will draw you in with their depth and sting you into an emotional response. Some are so powerful, so moving, that they left me speechless, and I couldn't do anything but sit in silence digesting their essence. You don't just READ them, you FEEL these poems as their words stroke your soul. What Ferace has delivered us is truly a literary treasure.< Less

Got my book today and I must say I am incredibly impressed. Ferace is even more adept at poetry than he is at fiction which is quite a feat. Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful and heartstopping. A lot of it is dark and thought provoking but even in those you can see the authors gift of words. I am very happy I purchased this!
