This textbook is fantastically terrible. I mean....terrible. It is riddled with typos such as the Wrong Brothers instead of the Wright Brothers, many of the published answers to the practice questions are off, and the practice questions themselves are difficult to understand. In addition, concepts are brought up in casual conversation despite the fact that they aren't defined for another three or four chapters, the author spends a SIGNIFICANT amount of time showing you how he derived an equation you are supposed to use (after which he then informs you that you won't need to know all of that, he just wanted to demonstrate how it was done) and the mathematical calculations in general are extremely difficult to follow. So if you're ordering this textbook because you have to, because you're about to take ASCI 310, let me give you a couple of pointers. First, read the Naval Aviators textbook reading assignments before you read the ones from this book. That textbook is boring, but easy to... More > follow, precise, and clear about definitions. Second, if you come across a term that you don't know the meaning of, just remain calm. It's likely he'll finally get around to telling you what it means within the next few chapters. Third, when you see really complicated calculations and you're having a hard time following them, skip to the end of them to see if you ACTUALLY need to know them, or if he was just putting on a show. If he's putting on the show, ignore it and skip to the equation. Fourth, keep in mind, as you struggle to follow an often erratic and imprecise train of thought, that as the first reviewer said you can burn this textbook when the class is over. I have never hated a textbook so much in my life, nor struggled to follow an author's line of reasoning so much as I did while attempting to get through this book. I wish such a dreadful specimen of college instruction had never been created, and that I'd never been forced to read it. As a final note, consider taking ASCI 309 instead of 310. That textbook was co-written by an author who actually knows how to write textbooks, and despite the fact that the ERAU catalog makes 310 sound infinitely cooler, it isn't. Really, it isn't. In hindsight, I'd have taken 309 in a second and counted myself lucky. This textbook is terrible.< Less

The graphs are hard to read and the books equations are unclear due to non uniform characters. I hate this book, and would have rather gone to the bookstore and spent more money on a book that wasn't self/peer edited in order to have something to keep in my professional library. Instead, I burned it as soon as the class was over.
