    Since we have been taught the history of the Civil War via American history classes, or we saw a peek of it in a movie or a book. But it isnt until we confront a depiction of just how fragile the government for the people by the people almost no longer existed.  James Theres and Tim Schnese has provided this "what if" depiction in this outstanding novel. In blending fact and fiction, they tell the story of how President Lincoln's presidency was overthrown. Through chronolizing dates and events this story came to life. It is also a story that makes you wonder what the state of the United States would be like if the coup by General McClellan really did take place. During the war some people felt that President Lincoln was a tyrant. This book gives insight to just how much of a benevolent person President Lincoln is. One of my favorite part was when Clara Barton happened along  a dying soldier. In the preface of this book the author James Theres mentions how this... More > preface, "what if" piece of history has been with him for over 25 years.   Instead of repeating details of this story, I will say that this well written book is a must read from cover to cover. < Less
