Based on actual events, "The D.A." is a political drama set in California's Lost Coast. At the center of the story is Paul De Santos, the Lost Coast's newly elected district attorney. Dismissed by critics as "dumb," a "Southern California surfer," De Santos sends shock waves through the community when he introduces his bold new agenda. At the top of his list is WestPAC Corp., the Lost Coast's oldest and largest timber company. When De Santos files a controversial lawsuit against WestPAC, the company fires back by pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into an effort to recall him from office.
What follows is an epic community struggle that raises questions about the integrity of the district attorney's office, the role of money in politics, and corporate responsibility to both citizens and the environment.
"The Lost Coast D.A." captures community struggle over the heart and soul of the Lost Coast, California's traditional 'have-not'... More > community, where people truly believe that not all who wander are lost.< Less
