This "fictionalized memoir" follows Jan Curran, who after cancer treatments, moves to a senior Living facility. After wondering if she can ever fit in, she meets a group of peers and together they face the challenges of disease, dementia, loss, loneliness, and abandonment, as well as various staff deficiencies at the facillity with sweetness and humor. Jan's wit will make you laugh at the various foibles of both the elderly and the staff, but her tender incites will also make you cry. This is a MUST READ!

You'll laugh! You'll cry! You'll recognize human nature no matter how old you are, but if you're over 65, you'll probably recognize yourself and one or more of your friends. Jan is a wonderful writer who can make you laugh and shed tears in the same paragraph. Her personal account of life at "the Inn" and her courage in the face of mounting challenges show us she is the Energizer Bunny of writers. You'll be glad you met Jan Curran!

THIS IS A GREAT BOOK. AS I LIVE IN A SENIOR CITIZEN HOME SUCH AS JAN DOES. AND I FIND MY PLACE IS JUST AS JAN DESCRIBES IT. I HAVE BEEN ENJOYING IT SO MUCH THIS AFTERNOON. THANK YOU SO MUCH JAN FOR LETTING AN OUTSIDER LEARN ABOUT THE OTHER WAY OF AGEING AS IT ISN'T EASY.

I can't say enough good things about this wonderful book. Insightful, amusing, touching and packed with more one-liners than a night with Henny Youngman, Jan Curran's new book may be "fictionalized," but its filled with truths, both specific and universal. ACTIVE SENIOR LIVING is further proof of Curran's talent, perception and ever-present wit.
