Meg Simpson works in a rehoming centre for abandoned animals. It’s a thankless job and through the course of it, she’s aware she gets to see both the best and the worst humanity has to offer.
Into this microcosm of life lands a pup of undetermined lineage, with the teeth of a crocodile and the temperament of a constipated lion.
Meg takes to him instantly and gives him the name Chernobog before she takes him home and adopts him for good.
But Chernobog has a secret.
